The Importance of the TITHE in a Little Bit More Than a Nutshell – Money Is A Defense
The Importance of the TITHE in a Little Bit More Than a Nutshell

Many today have set out to refute the relevance of the Biblical and Christian practice called tithing. Everywhere you look there is somebody preaching or teaching against this ancient act. They come up with every scripture and thought that they can muster to put an end to what they say isn't in The New Testament or is just making the wrong people rich. Never once have I heard an argument that convinced me that my soul would be guarded against the gates of Hell should they be wrong for some reason. In matters such as these, it is always wise to consider the source. I'm pretty sure that none of these people would be willing to defend you on judgment day as to why you had a very good reason not to put your treasure where your heart. Have fun trying to defend yourself as to what you really did with God's money. Non-payment will be classified as "Owned by Mammon". This is when you going to hear the famous words "Depart From Me"

Jesus Christ said this in Matthew 6:21 KJV: "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." This means you're going to put your money into whatever you love. I will take it one step farther and say "Whatever you love the most is going to get most of your time and money." I believe this to be true not only from personal experience but as a money coach I always asked my client "what do you spend the most money on." If their answer is a non-essential item that usually leads me to where their spending problem is if they're being honest with me. Love, Time and Money all have very similar traits. When you love something you give it your time and money. When you spend time with something or someone you began to love it or them. Money is seen as a gift to be given to the one you love and wish to spend more time with. Love, Time and Money all go hand in hand.

Let's take a look at where the concept of Tithing started in this world at least. Tithing, for the most part, is seen as an earth the only rule but the truth be told tithing started in heaven along with just about everything else. But for this article lets stick to the world we know. Genesis 14:17-20 KJV".

17 After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom came out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King's Valley). 18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was a priest of God Most High, 19 and he blessed Abram, saying, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. 20 And praise be to God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand." Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything."

Abraham was a man hand-picked by God to become the father of a nation of people called the Jews or Hebrews. He was a Chaldean priest who impressed Heaven with His devoutness towards the Baal gods. He seemed to have a unique understanding of what gods wanted in a worshiper and priest. So God took him from the other gods with a sweetheart deal that Abraham could not refuse literally. He promised him that He would make Him the father of many children and that the whole world would be blessed through His seed. Shortly after the deal was struck and God cut the covenant while Abraham was asleep by the way God sent then just Abram into battle with several of the neighboring kings.

Now, of course, God was with Abram so he won every battle and rounded up the spoils of war and headed home. While en route He was met by the King of Salem named Mechezidec. Abraham knew that this King was different and had to have to know that another deal was in the works. He had a covenant meal with Mechezidec a regent in the earth. There was a passing of the Paton but there was just one last thing that had to happen before the covenant could be stamped approved. Abraham bought a clue from His understanding of deities and gave a tenth (TITHE) of the spoils he had just acquired from war to Melchezidec thus ratifying the covenant.

All of Heaven rejoiced because they had found a man that understood spirit world payments. Spirit word payments are necessary to invoke the gods to help you in the natural world. Every spirit wants payment for their services just like everybody else. Abraham knew this and finalized the transaction that made Him the new regent in the earth. Heaven had found a man that knew how to transact business with heaven. This would prove to make the tenth that he gave a standard or baseline amount going that heaven would accept as payment for their services.

We then find out just how important these payments are because they became the required payment for all of the Jewish/Hebrew people. The Tithe was Holy unto the LORD and everybody knew it. Every god had a treasure and Jehovah was about to build His. Money and other things of value were exchanged between the natural and spirit world through men and women who held positions in one or the other or both. The gods then use these monies to influence men to do their bidding. It's one super giant universal stock exchange between men and their gods. Jehovah through Abraham instituted the Tithe as His exchange system with those that loved, honored and obeyed Him. In exchange for their faithfulness, they received protection from the Devourer (Mammon). "

Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. A11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. 12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts." Malachi 3:8-12 KJV

Here we see the explicit reason for the Tithe. First, so that there may be meat in God's house. This word meat in this context means "Revelation." God only shares His knowledge, wisdom, and understanding with houses that know how to reciprocate properly. Two. so that you can receive a blessing from the LORD. He promises to open the windows of heaven and pour it out. Use your imagination however you want on that one but heaven does have windows and a pour is a pour. Third. The rebuking of the devourer. This is huge because the Tithe become protection money. And, you thought the Mafia came up with that idea.

I have a saying. "You don't own anything that you cannot protect." What's the use of receiving the revelation and the blessings if there is someone waiting right there to snatch it all away from you? God in His wonderful wisdom creates a system of being able to pay Him to provide a secured line of communication with Him as well as receive manifold blessings from Him and then hedges us in nice and tight away from the theft. All this just for ten percent. Wow! Now that is what I call a bargain.

Below are some scripture references that will help you understand not only what the tithe was but what it could be. It was not always money but was always something of extreme values to the individual paid not given in honor for services rendered. God also used the tithe as His payroll for the Levitical Priesthood. God takes paying who is owed and what is owed very seriously. And it's not just a new testament thing either because He killed two people in the new testament for lying about His money and messing up His payroll.

"And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it is holy unto the LORD." Lev 27:30 KJV.

"And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD." Lev 27:32 KJV

"Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up a heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe." Num 18:26 KJV

"Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand:" Deu 12:17 KJV

"Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year." Deu 14:22 KJV

"And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always." Deu 14:23 KJV

"At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:" Deu 14:28 KJV

"And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly." 2Ch 31:5 KJV

"And concerning the children of Israel and Judah, that dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of holy things which were consecrated unto the LORD their God, and laid them by heaps." 2Ch 31:6 KJV

"And the Preist the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house." Neh 10:38 KJV

"Then brought all Judah the tithe of the corn and the new wine and the oil unto the treasuries." Neh 13:12 KJV

The moral of the story is this. If you are a Christian and you have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ there are some requirements that you must follow. Not just for the sake of being what is called devout but because you believed in Jesus and you are now in love with Him. Those to elements working together produces a type of Faith that worketh by Love. Gal. 5:6. This type of faith is the type you need to do exactly what the Bible says in Malachi 3:10 where Gods say to PROVE Him. Whether you believe in the practice of tithing or not my prayer is that you have enough proof to back up what you believe either way.
