"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." Proverbs 4:7 KJV. Proverbs is one of the most profound books of the Bible because it was written by the wisest man in the world or that has ever lived Solomon the son of King David. And even though the author King Soloman the also richest man to have ever live got his wisdom directly from God he still missed it. His understanding of all things was bar none but the fact that He this power was superb His disobedience upended His throne and legacy.
Understand is true power and we all need some of that kind of power. When not mixed with obedience we can still find ourselves on the outs with God. So having said all of that let's take a look at how we can benefit from understanding when it comes to our own lives and finances.
It all starts first with getting ahold of the right information and from there taking the time that we fully understand that information. We live in a world today where the most important information to us like choosing the right healthcare plan or warranty on your new car is hidden in what's known as the fine print. We walk away from very large purchases with a cursory understanding of that legally binding agreement really is all about. Yet scripture warns us to get an understanding of what we are getting ourselves into.
"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." Proverbs 4:7 KJV
God knows that Satan and His cohorts have many tricks up their sleeves. Deception is the name and the game. The use lies and misguided half-truths to convince people that they have your best interest in mind and will take any loss upon themselves should something go wrong with the deal. The fine print is everywhere today. You cannot buy an ice cream cone without acknowledging that should you choke on the cone and die the seller is not in any way liable. Believe me, there is something written somewhere to the fact.
God wants us to fully understand what we are up against in this world. Any good Father would. We have no Idea how much we hurt the Lord when we choose not to pursue wisdom knowledge and understanding. He knows that the way will be hard for us if we don't incline our ear to His wisdom. he also knows that we perish for the lack of knowledge. Don't let this be you. Especially where finances are concerned. Mammon wants nothing more than to remain some obscure though and fleeting memory. But make today the last day that you choose to be unaware.
